Alexandra Jones of LaMoille receives IWS Award of Distinction for worship leadership

Huntington University 2014 graduate Alexandra Jones, a worship leadership major from LaMoille, Ill., has been honored with an Award of Distinction for Outstanding Scholarship and Leadership in Christian Worship. It was presented by President James R. Hart of the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies (IWS).

"Alexandra was ideal for this award because she is an exceptional student and has a passion for worship," said Bo Helmich, assistant professor of worship leadership. "We are excited to see how her gifts and skills will make a difference in the life of the church."

According to IWS, the award is given on the basis of scholarship, leadership and diligence. It includes a $1,000 scholarship for the first two selected students who enroll at IWS within a year and is renewable up to four semesters. To be eligible, students must have a minimum grade point average of 3.7 and be recommended by a professor.
