2013 Apr 16

"Side by Side" will feature a variety of popular songs and dance numbers from the best work of Academy, Grammy and Tony award-winning lyricist Stephen Sondheim. HU theater students will take the stage with favorites from shows such as "Into the Woods," "Follies," "Merrily We Roll Along," "Company" "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" and more.

The cast includes Osvaldo Gil, a freshman Music Choral Education major from Indianapolis, IN.

Joni Killian, adjunct instructor of vocal performance, will be musical director. Melissa Duffer, adjunct instructor and resident choreographer, will direct.

"I have loved Stephen Sondheim's music from the first time I was introduced to it in high school," Duffer said. "Being able to direct a show that encompasses so much of his work is really exciting. The students involved in the show are all so talented. We have been having a lot of fun during this rehearsal process, and I can't wait for everyone to see them perform this incredible music."
